"Pathway - Beacon Hill Park, Victoria BC."A plein air painting, I sat on the grass at Beacon Hill Park facing North to Bear Mountain.
First I always do a preparatory pencil sketch which takes away all the angst of composing directly on my canvas.
I also work out the tones, and especially the shadows.
There were eight of us artists painting outdoors this summer day in September.
We are a loosely based group of artists who enjoy painting out in the open,
Plein Air work is quick, done on the spot - great for keeping our art fresh!
The 9" x 12" original oil painting is available framed or unframed,
painted on good quality canvas.
